SLASHER was formed on July, 2008 in Itapira, Brasil. On that period the line-up was Lucas Aldi (guitars), Lúcio Nunes (guitars/backing vocals), Wellington Clemente (bass/backing vocals), Daniel Macedo (vocals) and Rafael Coradi (drums). This cast self-released the band’s first record “BROKEN FAITH EP” on January 1st, 2009.
“BROKEN FAITH EP” was produced by Ricardo Piccoli (SHADOWSIDE, HELLISH WAR, KAMALA) at Piccoli Studio in Campinas, Brasil. The EP was highlighted in the section “Garage Demos” of the Roadie Crew Magazine (issue #131), considered the most prominent Brazilian publication of the Heavy Metal genre. It also obtained a grade 8/10 in a review published at Whiplash.net, one of the main Brazilian websites.
In 2010 the drummer Rafael Coradi left the group and Taddei Roberto joined the line-up. In April 2010 the single “TIME TO RISE” was self-released and its production was again at the hands of Ricardo Piccoli. This single obtained excellent reviews by the heavy metal community making it achieve the 35th place on the Roadrunner Records social network. It also guaranteed the 5th place among the best bands in the state of São Paulo according to a poll conducted by Whiplash.net.
On May 13th, 2011 the debut album “PRAY FOR THE DEAD” was self-released. This record was also produced by Ricardo Piccoli and the cover artwork was designed by Stan W Decker (PRIMAL FEAR, MASTERPLAN, JORN). The reviews of this record were very positive and Rafael Sartori from Território da Música/Portal Terra (one of the biggest web content companies from Latin America) defined SLASHER as “one of the greatest promises from Brazilian Thrash Metal”.
In July 2012 the vocalist Daniel Macedo left the group and Paulo “Skeeter” Martins joined the line-up as the new frontman. The band went back to the studio and self-released the single “OVERCOME” in January 2013. This song was produced by Tue Madsen (MESHUGGAG, KATAKLYSM, THE HAUNTED) at his Antfarm Studio in Aarhus, Denmark. A music video was also released for this single and it expanded the worldwide visibility of the group by surpassing 300.000 views on YouTube.
“KATHARSIS” the second album was self-released on February 13th, 2014. This record was also produced by Tue Madsen and the artwork was again signed by Stan W Decker. This album obtained excellent reviews all over the globe and has been considered one of the best releases of the year by the Brazilian media. As part of its promotion, the band was interviewed by the Heavy Metal legend Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA) at his radio show “Pegadas de Andreas” at 89,1 FM.
In July 2014 the bassist Wellington Clemente decided to leave and Erich Bruschini joined the group to continue touring “KATHARSIS”. By the end of that same year, the group had a management collapse due to a conflict of interests and fired their manager and their booking agency on charge for the European territory. In that same period, Erich Bruschini also left and João Pedro Castro entered the band later in August 2016.
On October 17th, 2018 the band self-released the single “EXPERIENCE”. This song has been produced by Tue Madsen and its artwork is photography by the guitarists Lucas Aldi and Lúcio Nunes. The band also released a music video to promote this single.
The group is currently working on a commemorative tour to celebrate 10 years of the début album “Pray for the Dead” which was released in 2011.

Este trabalho também garantiu o 5º lugar entre as melhores bandas do estado de São Paulo em pesquisa feita pelo Whiplash.net.
Em 13 de maio de 2011, o álbum debutante “PRAY FOR THE DEAD” foi lançado de forma independente. Este registro foi também produzido por Ricardo Piccoli e a arte de capa foi feita pelo designer Stan W Decker (PRIMAL FEAR, MASTERPLAN, JORN). As resenhas deste disco foram bastante positivas e o Rafael Sartori do Território da Música/Portal Terra definiu o SLASHER como “uma das grandes promessas do Thrash Metal brasileiro”.
Em julho de 2012 o vocalista Daniel Macedo deixa a banda e Paulo “Skeeter” Martins passa a ser o novo frontman. A banda retornou ao estúdio e lançou de maneira independente o single “OVERCOME” em Janeiro de 2013. Esta música foi produzida por Tue Madsen (MESHUGGAG, KATAKLYSM, THE HAUNTED) no Antfarm Studio em Aarhus, Dinamarca. Este álbum recebeu excelentes resenhas em todo o mundo e foi considerado um dos melhores lançamentos do ano pela mídia brasileira. Como parte de sua divulgação, a banda foi entrevistada pela lenda Andreas Kisser (SEPULTURA) no seu programa “Pegadas de Andreas” na 89,1 FM.
Em Julho de 2014 o baixista Wellington Clemente decide deixar o grupo e Erich Bruschini assume o posto para continuar a turnê “KATHARSIS”. No final daquele mesmo ano o grupo teve um colapso gerencial devido a conflitos de interesses, demitindo o manager e a empresa de booking responsável pelo território europeu. Naquela mesma época, Erich Bruschini decide sair e João Pedro Castro entra na banda mais tarde em agosto de 2016.
No dia 17 de outubro de 2018 a banda lança de maneira independente o single “EXPERIENCE”. Esta música foi produzida por Tue Madsen e a arte da capa é uma fotografia de autoria dos guitarristas Lucas Aldi e Lúcio Nunes. A banda também lançou um videoclipe para este registro que contou com a produção da Black Horse Filmes.
O grupo encontra-se neste momento trabalhando nos preparativos para uma turne comemorativa dos 10 anos do álbum de estréia “Pray for the Dead” de 2011.
